LIVING SCULPTURE

Designed by Oscar Niemeyer in 1962, as part of a new urban plan, 15 concrete structures are clustered around a 1 million square meters park in the heart of Tripoli: the Lebanese pavilion, an exhibition hall, experimental theatre, pyramid, ceremonial arch, amphitheater, social housing for the workers. The site uncovers the story of a battlefield - from its concept, through times of wars, to the current times. Prone to the civil war in 1975, the project has since been abandoned.
