Star Homes

Star Homes comprises 110 identical single-family homes distributed across 60 villages in rural Mtwara Region, Tanzania. The project was developed by an interdisciplinary team of architects, public health specialists, and entomologists to test whether carefully considered housing can support better health outcomes. The houses bring several design interventions together within a single dwelling, linking domestic space to questions of malaria prevention, respiratory health, and everyday living conditions in one of the country’s less developed regions.
