Covering around 70% of the urban area, the Olivetti Factory has become an industrial city model, putting people at the center of a business. Initiated in the 1930s by Adriano Olivetti, this community project has transformed Ivrea by creating a mix of social and industrial buildings – a campus for integrated living and working. In his book Citta dell’Uomo, Olivetti writes: “The street, the factory, the house are the most substantial and visible elements of a civilisation in evolution”.
