The Mill Owners’ Association Building
Le Corbusier
The Mill Owners’ Association Building in Ahmedabad was designed by Le Corbusier in the early 1950s as the headquarters for a textile industry association, completed around 1954. It exemplifies modernist architecture adapted to a tropical climate, with exposed concrete, deep brise-soleil sun-screens, and open, flexible interior spaces. The building’s design responds to wind and light while framing views of the surrounding landscape, and it is recognized as an important early work in Le Corbusier’s Indian projects.
