Dancing Forest is an in-situ installation by architect Kengo Kuma for the Muz Yer programme in Rennes. Set on the Saint-Cyr quays, the work is composed of nine assembled wooden trunks that form a discreet urban birdhouse. Hidden cavities provide nesting shelters for birds, while the burnt wood finish, inspired by the Japanese yakisugi technique, protects the material and gives the structure its dark, tactile presence. Developed with the LPO of Ille-et-Vilaine and produced by Atelier blam, the installation brings together craft, ecology, and a quiet urban atmosphere.
