Polaris District

The Polaris District by LAN forms part of the wider transformation of the Île de Nantes, reworking a former industrial and port area into a dense, mixed-use urban quarter facing the Loire. Conceived as a porous piece of city rather than a closed block, the project brings together housing, student residences, offices, public spaces, and the Vatel hospitality school.

Its spatial organization encourages new relationships between architecture, urban life, and material presence. Buildings of different scales are arranged to allow movement through the site, while shared outdoor spaces open the district to the city. Polaris becomes a contemporary urban fragment where density, permeability, program, and public life are carefully woven together.
