SWAM

SWAM is a mixed-use development set beside the historic Saint-Maurice bastion in Lille’s Euralille district. De Alzua+ organizes the project around a nine-storey structure combining a 112-room Mama Shelter hotel, a panoramic restaurant, offices and shops. The building works across several urban levels, reconnecting the park, the city and an elevated promenade while reinterpreting the fragmented remains of Lille’s former fortifications. Around Cour Souham, it introduces new routes, thresholds and everyday activity into a complex inherited site.
