Museum der Kulturen Basel

The renovation and extension of the Museum der Kulturen Basel adds new exhibition spaces beneath a folded roof of dark, iridescent ceramic tiles. Rising above the historic building, the roof draws a subtle dialogue with the surrounding cityscape and the nearby Basel Minster. A reorganised circulation route and a new courtyard entrance improve access, while the contemporary addition gives the museum a clear identity without overwhelming its historic setting.
