Location: Nantes, France
The Nantes Market of National Interest is a major food distribution and logistics hub composed of seven specialised buildings. Designed around a broad timber roof, the complex draws inspiration from the scale and rhythm of nineteenth-century market halls while establishing a strong contemporary identity. Transparent façades, flexible interior spaces and landscaped edges soften the industrial character of the site and connect the architecture to its surroundings. Defined by natural light, clear circulation and an expressive structural system, the project provides an efficient and adaptable setting for Nantes’ agri-food sector. The market comes to life long before the city wakes. This photographic series follows its changing atmosphere, from the intense activity of the early-morning wholesale market to the quiet stillness that settles over the site during the day.
