Aquaterra is an environmental education centre set within the Parc des Îles, a former mining and industrial landscape transformed into a large public park. The building’s compact oval form responds to the surrounding islands and water basins, bringing together exhibition spaces, offices and an experimental greenhouse. Steel and timber construction, straw insulation, Douglas fir cladding, photovoltaic panels and low-energy systems articulate the project’s environmental intent while echoing the site’s industrial memory.
