Louvre-Lens

The Louvre-Lens by SANAA brings the Louvre collection into the landscape of a former mining region in northern France. Set within a large public park, the museum is composed of low, horizontal volumes that reflect the sky, the trees, and the changing light around them.

Its architecture is discreet and open, avoiding monumentality in favour of transparency, movement, and continuity with the site. Inside, the Galerie du Temps presents works from different periods and civilizations in one continuous space, creating a direct and accessible encounter with art.
