Tsuyoshi Tane

Location: Paris, France
At the Hôtel de la Marine in Paris, Atelier Tsuyoshi Tane Architects designed the museum space for The Al Thani Collection. Set within one of the city’s most significant historic buildings, on Place de la Concorde, the project introduces a contemporary framework for a collection spanning cultures, periods, and geographies.
Shaped by Tsuyoshi Tane’s idea of an “Archaeology of the Future,” the intervention works through memory, material traces, and the depth of place. Rather than competing with the historic interior, it allows the architecture and the displayed objects to enter into a measured conversation.
