Bosjes Chapel

Set within the Bosjes estate in South Africa’s Breede Valley, the chapel by Steyn Studio becomes a delicate landmark in the agricultural landscape. Surrounded by vineyards, orchards, gardens, and mountain views, it sits in dialogue with the estate’s wider context. Designed by South African-born Coetzee Steyn, the chapel is defined by its thin white concrete shell, whose flowing roofline echoes the surrounding mountains and the gables of Cape Dutch architecture. Reflected in the water around it, the building appears almost weightless — a quiet place of gathering, contemplation, and light.
