East Village is an 8,000-square-metre mixed-use residential development made up of three parallel blocks, each with its own architectural character. Dark stone, timber, vivid red metal and vertical planting give the ensemble a layered material presence that recalls elements of Lebanese domestic and garden traditions without quoting them directly. A cantilevered volume projects toward the street, adding tension to the composition, while a contemporary art gallery at ground level opens the project to a public and cultural use.
