French Pavilion Osaka 2025

Coldefy, Carlo Ratti, GSM, Justine Emard,

Inspired by Japanese legend Akai Ito, the Pavilion guides visitors through shifting perspectives, mirroring life’s rhythms of beginning, pause, and departure.

Its 17-meter-high movable fabric façade responds to light and wind, resembling theatre curtains.

A looping pathway alternates between enclosed, open-air, and garden spaces, highlighting French savoir-faire.

Constructed with prefabricated, modular elements, the Pavilion embraces circularity, enabling disassembly and material reuse.

The entrance stairway and balcony form a stage, blurring inside and outside, welcoming visitors into an adaptive, immersive journey.

The Pavilion reflects the interplay of architecture, environment, and human experience, offering dialogue, reflection, and connection.
