Tagore Memorial Hall

B. V. Doshi

Tagore Memorial Hall in Ahmedabad is an auditorium designed by architect B. V. Doshi in the 1960s and completed in 1971. Named in honour of Rabindranath Tagore, the building is an example of Brutalist architecture, using reinforced concrete and geometric folded walls to shape light and space. Located opposite the Sanskar Kendra, the hall reflects mid-century modern design principles and remains a part of the city’s architectural history.
