The Doshi Retreat on the Vitra Campus is a restrained new structure shaped by light, material, and quiet transitions between spaces. Balkrishna Doshi designed it with Khushnu Panthaki Hoof and Sönke Hoof, creating an atmosphere that invites pause and reflection. Julien Lanoo’s photographs follow the changing rhythm of the architecture, from close material details to the broader sequence of spaces. The project also connects to Doshi’s Indian spiritual references and stands as a significant late work within his practice.
