Location: Seoul, South Korea
Located in the heart of Seoul’s Dongdaemun district, Dongdaemun Design Plaza by Zaha Hadid Architects brings together exhibition halls, event spaces, design facilities, and public programmes within a single continuous form.
Set amid an area shaped by markets, fashion, and constant urban activity, the building acts as both cultural venue and civic ground. Its aluminium skin folds across the site like a constructed landscape, blurring the line between architecture, plaza, park, and route. The project moves between building and city with a fluid, public presence that reflects Dongdaemun’s layered character.
