Helsingør Psychiatric Hospital
by Julien De Smedt Architects and BIG

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark
CopenHill turns a waste-to-energy plant into a public landscape in Copenhagen. Designed by BIG, the building combines infrastructure, recreation and civic use: a sloping roof doubles as a ski run, hiking route, climbing wall and viewing platform, while the aluminium façade draws daylight into the industrial volumes below. Julien Lanoo’s photographs read the project as both machine and mountain, a built landmark that folds utility into public experience.
