Pôle éducatif Gisèle Halimi Chasse-Royale

In Valenciennes, the Gisèle Halimi Educational Centre brings together early childhood, primary education, leisure and health services within a single civic complex. Designed by Tank Architectes, it combines a crèche, classrooms, dining areas, shared activity spaces and medical consultation rooms, creating continuity between children, families, teachers and healthcare professionals. A third of the programme is shared, reinforcing the building’s role in the Chasse-Royale neighbourhood. Concrete, timber and brick give the project a calm, durable material presence, while dedicated outdoor areas extend daily use into the landscape.
