Sjakket Youth Centre

The Sjakket Youth Centre transforms a former factory in northwest Copenhagen into a vibrant community space for local young people. Its preserved barrel-vaulted halls accommodate sports, music and communal activities, while a raised half-pipe terrace creates a sheltered outdoor meeting place. A container-like sound studio bridges the two existing structures, giving the centre a distinctive presence within its industrial surroundings. Colour, retained graffiti and flexible spaces connect the building’s historic fabric with contemporary youth culture.
